‘Afiat’ by Afiaijaz Afia Ijaz

I have been ill since last one year due to bad knee operation on 30th November 2019 – I had not lost hope and believe better times will come in my life. I always pray to God to give me strength to help needing people.

Has lockdown changed you? How? Why?

Lockdown has changed me in a positive way – I have been able to spend quality time with my loved ones and make good memories.

What has made you smile or brought you joy in lockdown? Can you explain it…

Watching my granddaughter Zaynah, play and bond with her I feel better, happy and content. I have been involved different activities with my family members. Watching movies, dramas, cooking enjoying each other’s presence.

Have you changed since lockdown? Tell me why?

Positivity and hope for the future. Peace on earth, love for always and everyone. The five numbers of fingers on a loving hand extending hope, strength, peace, and prosperity. Give love and get love. Well wishes of everyone.

What is the story behind your hand art?

This artwork has been inspired by the happy quality time spending home with family. Rainbow gives up hope that good times are to come. The sun reflects positivity and lastly the heart reflects love and peace for everyone. I miss socialising with friends in C.H Eton Rd. but I have hope and positive mind. That the light at the end of the tunnel is yet to come. 'Afiat' means well wisher of everyone.

Anything else you would like to share?

I hope that people see my artwork. They will feel happiness and believe good times will come and we would all be together again. God bless all of you. Ameen. Aunty Afia.
