‘Catching hearts in lock down’
Has lockdown changed you? How? Why?
My perspective has changed, with regard to appreciating loved ones and material things I now know were unnecessary.
What made you smile or brought you joy in lockdown? Can you explain it?
I have enjoyed spending more time with my family, it has been wonderful to prioritise each other and slow down, compared to our usual relatively busy lives.
Have you changed since lockdown? Tell me why.
Most of the activities and commitments I previously thought were so important really aren't, not having to rush around and plan as much has calmed me, I am able to relax more now.
What is the story behind your hand art?
The silk printed hearts falling from the branch are symbolic of all the things lock down has expected of me. My hand shows that I have tried to catch them all but simply haven't been able to. The soft texture and shape of the hearts hopefully soften this and show that this hasn't been a negative experience.
