'Lost Connections' by John Owen Rees Jones
I upcycle forgot gems that have fallen out of fashion and breath a little obscurity that might appeal to a new generation. This normally involve a Godzilla or a skull.
Has lockdown changed you? How? Why?
Not really as not a fan of crowds or outside. I am a bit more socially aware but feel that's every one now.
What made you smile or brought you joy in lockdown? Can you explain it?
On the rare occasions I do go out and have to use the bus I normally get a seat to myself. Silver lining.
Have you changed since lockdown? Tell me why.
Through the summer I probably went for loads more walks than I would have if lock down wasn't in effect. Something about being told you have to stay indoors. Guessing it's just the British mentality. I don't even like going for walks unless there's a destination in mind!
What is the story behind your hand art?
My nan had loads of old prints on the walls and from a very young age always thought they were great images but a bit stuffy. Then later on I discovered the Dada movement and thought these guys know how to have fun with art and it doesn't need to be stuff. So merged the two. It's like in comedy the best combination of people is a funny man and the straight guy. The image I alter is the straight guy and the image I alter with is the pie in the face.
Is there anything else you would like to share?
There are amazing artist around your the local area and all you have to do is a quick search on Facebook, Instagram etc. It will blow you away. I think I read on a mem or something " if you buy from a big store they are not going to do a little dance in there bedroom when it goes through. Help someone start whereing a hole in there carpet.... From dancing....nothing rude".
